We are pleased to announce that CIDR has entered into a collaboration with the University of Washington Center for Biomedical Statistics (CBS) to provide statistical and analytical support for the interpretation of genetic data. The CBS is part of the Department of Biostatistics, a recognized leader in the statistical sciences. The Department is a center of excellence for development and application of statistical methodology across the health sciences.
The Statistical Genetics group at the Center for Biomedical Statistics, led by Drs. Bruce Weir and Cathy Laurie, has extensive experience in developing statistical methodology for genomic data and in analyzing data for genome-wide association studies in its role as the Coordinating Center for two large NIH-supported consortia, the Gene-Environment Association Studies (GENEVA) and Genomics and Randomized Trials Network (GARNET). The Center has completed a total of 15 study postings on dbGaP from CIDR generated datasets, 13 imputation datasets and a GWAS datacleaning online tutorial as well as a GWAS datacleaning publication. Examples of the services available through the collaboration are GWAS genotype data cleaning and dbGaP posting, plate map design, imputation of GWAS datasets to 1000 Genomes and detection of chromosomal anomalies. These services will be offered at NO ADDITIONAL COST to study investigators with GWAS projects supported by the NIH CIDR Program. Investigators working with CIDR through the SNP Center may also utilize these services through a fee-for-service mechanism.
